2 Star Review of "Unwritten"

I found this book through GoodReads -- I think it was posted on one of the Lists. The cover caught my eye because I'm pretty certain I had seen it posted on a fanfiction author's web page last year and since I like to support FF authors who go on to publish, I purchased the book.

The character development and plot started out fine. However, once Jonah's disorder started to formally unfold and Elle in all her wisdom came to rescue him, the story just got a little bit lame. Chapters and chapters of Jonah berating himself over an accident had me callously eyeball rolling.

Elle as a web designer somehow is gifted, I guess, to know exactly what he needs, when he needs it, all the while really, really looking and acting like a door mat. She just didn't have as much substance to her personality as I would have liked for her role.

J.J.'s character was obnoxious, cold and when her scenes appeared I just sped-read through them. She didn't add anything of substance to Jonah & Elle's relationship. It would have been nice to see some warmth in her role if we're to believe the two girls are BFFs.

The text could have used some more proofreading. There were plenty of typos to be found and the errors seemed to increase towards the end of the book.
